This is a very nice and highly unusual Gibson guitar, formerly of the Walter Becker collection.  It's factory order number (FON) of 7462H 3 dates it to 1942, an era when Gibson was changing many of its specs and materials. It's probably an L-50 given the 16" lower bout and single-bound body but it has a flat sunburst Maple back and sides much like the F-37 or the F-47. This rare combination of the flat maple back and arched top gives this guitar a great mojo and tone.  This guitar is in very good playing condition.  There are no cracks in the top and sides and only one small but stable crack on the lower part of the back.  There are a few expected marks from time and use and some play wear on the fretboard but no repairs are needed and the guitar remains all-original and very attractive.  The neck is straight and the action is comfortable and the tone is both resonant and sweet, which is what you'd expect from the combination of the flat back with the large archtop.  Comes with a modern hard case in good condition.
